Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.
Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.
Paul Benavidez (Renshi/Master)
A practitioner of Shaolin Kempo Karate for more than 20 years, Paul designed and oversees the Karate Kids program. Owner of Zen Dojos martial arts studios based in San Juan, he holds the rank of sixth-degree black belt, and was a 2004 Martial Art Hall of Fame inductee, MASTER OF THE YEAR. Paul competes in many local and national tournaments throughout the year, and especially enjoys recognition for the many young champions he has trained!
Eric Johnston (Now In Lake Elsinore)
Shihan Eric Johnston is a practioner of the Martial Arts for 15 years who has studied various styles.Inducted into the martial arts hall of fame in 2004 and winner of many open tournaments.As a father and a husband, he has realized the dangers of the world today. Master Eric has relocated to Lake Elsinore with the intention of bringing his community the life skills needed to survive in the world of today.
Matthew Levin (Now In Florida)
Sensei Matt has relocated with his family to Florida with the intention of bringing his community the life skills needed to survive in the world of today.
Matt Sitton (Instructor)
When Matt isn't teaching a class or a private lesson, you will likely find him wielding a sword! He especially enjoys the traditional Japanese Katana, and has successfully competed in weapons forms & sparring. Matt combines his passion for Martial Arts and teaching others at Zen Dojos.
